CHAMOMOLIE TEA & MONTEZUMA

MOTTO OF THE DAY:

'...EVEN MONTEZUMA HAD HIS CHAMOMILE MAZE.'
SYLVIA WINDLE HUMHREY

 CHAMOMILE TEA, CHAMOMILE TEA,
NOW WITH HONEY, NOW WITH LEMON,
I PREPARE FOR YOU AND ME.

PLEASE, COME JOIN ME OVER HERE
SITTING CLOSE TO ME DEAR,
WE'LL TALK ABOUT LOVE,
BIRDS AND BEES.
WE'LL TALK ABOUT THAT AND THIS.

WHEN THE DAY IS MILD, SUNNY
I AM SIPPING TEA WITH HONEY...
BIRD IS SINGING IN THE TREE
BY MY HEAD DANCE HONEY BEE...
LOOKING AT YOUR DEAREST FACE,
I'LL BE PASSING HOURS OF THE DAYS...
SPRING "ARCI" ARCIMBOLDI

THE  'MOTTO OF THE DAY' I TOOK FROM SYLVIA WINDLY HUMPHTREY'S
BOOK  'A MATTER OF TASTE...'. IT IS A VERY OLD BOOK IN MY POSSESSION.
THE BOOK IS FROM 1965, PUBLISHED BY THE MACMILLAN COMPANY IN NEW  YORK . THERE IS ANOTHER VERSE, FROM THAT BOOK THAT I LIKE TO BRING
HERE ABOUT CHAMOMILE:
'...A PATH SOWN WITH THIS HERB IS SOFT AS CHENILLE TO WALK ON.'
SYLVIA HAD SUCH A GREAT RESPECT FOR CHAMOMILE THAT SHE CALLED IT
A PLANT DOCTOR SAYING '...THAT A DYING OR DROOPING PLANT WILL RECOVER
IF CHAMOMILE IS PLANTED NEAR IT.'

*MONTEZUMA  (  MONTEZUMA II ,   1480 ?-1520 )
WAS A DESPOTIC AZTEC EMPEROR IN NOW MEXICO, WHOSE NAME IS LINKED
TO THE LEGEND OF TREMENDOUS TREASURES, THAT SPANISH STOLE, BUT
THEN LOST AT SEA.

THANK YOU
