IRONY OF LIFE - SPIDER - POEM

SPIDER WORKED ON HIS WEB
VERY HARD, AND TRAP HE SET.
HE CAUGHT MOTH AND A FLY,
MOSQUITO THAT CAME BY.

HE DIDN'T SLEEP, HE DIDN'T REST.
HE WANTED TO DO HIS VERY BEST.
LONG HOURS HE ENDURED,
TO MAKE SURE THAT TRAP SECURED.
DEDICATED LABOR, FROM HIS LITTLE HEART...
BUT...  HE WASN'T SMART...
WANTING TO HELP A HOUSE MASTER
TO HAVE HOME INSECT FREE AND CLEAN...
HE BROUGHT UPON HIMSELF DISASTER,
NOT KNOWING - THAT HIS MASTER - MEAN.

MASTER, NOT THINKING MUCH,
KILLED THE SPIDER WITH ONE TOUCH,
WITH HIS FOOT IN LEATHER BOOT.

OH, SPIDER, SPIDER!
YOUR LIFE IS GONE,
YOU WORKED IN VAIN...
YOU ACTED INSANE...
YOU GET NO PAY,
THAT YOU DESERVE!
SHOULDN'T YOU FIRST
THINK AND LEARN,
WHOM DO YOU SERVE!
